PETROL HIKES

This is the most distinct example of how The government of India once again has shown the resolve and spirit to maintain its numero uno position as the biggest hood winker of the nation. Rising crude prices is an universal phenomenon and how come only we have chosen to raise the prices in the immediate neighborhood. Our neighbors sell petrol at 20 to 30% cheaper rates, how? and we are supposed to be the economic giant in this part of the world. Maybe its precisely the reason 'cause the government feels our public can afford it. Why blame the government when we live in a country where in one part there are suicides due to lack of a few hundreds needed for survival whereas in another part people throng in thousands to spend more thousands to watch the drama and stage managed spectacle that goes in the garb of a sporting event..IPL Indias Premier betting League.,, bye

hello Chennai.. its long time since I wrote something. The recent decision of the Tamil Nadu Govt to construct a hospital in the site where a world class library stands now forced me to come out with this piece...If this smacks of political thinking bankruptcy then I am not sure what does..The fact that people have elected you to form a govt does not mean that you can do what you want no matter how hard this may be for the same people who elected you..The CM has crossed all boundaries of plain thinking and has now reached the same stage which forced the people to throw her out earlier sadly the metamorphosis has take lesser time this time around.. May the Gods have mercy on us

budget 2011

Financial Harakiri this is Pranab da's budget 2011. Budget will be misnomer for what should go down as one of the dumbest budgets of all times, one which offered nothing material to any one leave alone the man on the streets. While the Rajas ,the Kanis and the mafiaso's of the world silently plunder thousand's the salaried tax paying middle class get a relief of Re 2000/- and with the impending fuel rise this will be so easily wiped out within a fortnight. What comes out of this budget is the in sensitiveness of the present government and its utter disregard for all that may bring a smile on the face of the common man.. Sad that one has to feel this way but what can you say about a government that's run on proxy for whom nothing else matters that make some occupants of race course road happy. To hell with governance........

Too late and too little

CBI raids spread across the country in connection with 2G.. funny to say the least considering its almost an year since the issue first broke out and a month since the minister in question quit..So was the CBI naive to believe that the perpetrators of such a huge fraud on the nation will preserve evidence in their offices/homes for such a long period. Then they must be the dumbest criminals in the world and for being one should be condemned. So once again an action has been seen to be taken while none was really intended. If this can shut a few mouths then so be it seems to be the position taken by the ruling class..Pity the millions of this nation who honestly are feeling happy today that action has been taken..Our political class has outsmarted many of the old timers of the world who believe in the Lincolnian principle that you cannot fool all the people all the time by proving that it can be done

Rising sea levels

It was with shock and disbelief I read this article in the Times where it was forewarned that Chennai could be hit very badly by rising sea levels and the IT corridor or the Princely Roads on ECR could be prime target for the sea waters..Is this true or is it only a presumption of the absurd environmentalist? If its true then what happens to all those bizarrely priced apartments being constructed on lands which I personally remember where tracks which were frequented by the less civilized of the society and the rest agricultural land where no notable agriculture would happen. These areas were the darker part of the city and what it is today would have been unthinkable even to the looniest of minds say 10+ years ago. So finally one only hopes that nothing of this sort happens and all those IT souls out there could rest in peace in their luxury villas adjoining their ultra modern offices located in concrete jungles ironically called 'Parks'
