Rising sea levels

It was with shock and disbelief I read this article in the Times where it was forewarned that Chennai could be hit very badly by rising sea levels and the IT corridor or the Princely Roads on ECR could be prime target for the sea waters..Is this true or is it only a presumption of the absurd environmentalist? If its true then what happens to all those bizarrely priced apartments being constructed on lands which I personally remember where tracks which were frequented by the less civilized of the society and the rest agricultural land where no notable agriculture would happen. These areas were the darker part of the city and what it is today would have been unthinkable even to the looniest of minds say 10+ years ago. So finally one only hopes that nothing of this sort happens and all those IT souls out there could rest in peace in their luxury villas adjoining their ultra modern offices located in concrete jungles ironically called 'Parks'

Pulling the wool

So Raja had to go finally..Who is fooling whom? The collective ruling political class has managed to pull the wool over the millions of ruled Indians who heaved a huge size of relief as if justice was done atlast. And so what happens next? Will anyone in the political clan be prosecuted? The answer is a loud NO. Raja will go back to Tamil Nadu and portray a martyristic image and he will be backed to the hilt by the wily old patriarch of Tamil politics and his heirlooms only to contest an another election and be back to the power corridors by which time people would have about 2g et all. The vicious cycle will continue and the people will soon have a new villain thrown to them by our rules to bite their teeth into albeit for a short while the honorable members of the political clan will laugh all their way to their respective banks..

Quiz Program at Lady Andal

Visited as a participant in the Mind Crushers Quiz held at Lady Andal School on 13th Nov..but eventually ended up as audience..It was a wonderful experience and for once I was not sad I could not match up to the standards of all those brilliant minds on and off the stage..Those guys were really brilliant and so many new things I was able to learn..I would recommend this to all of my contacts..do attend such brain rackers once in a while atleast to recharge your idle 'mind' batteries. The highlight of the show was the presence of one of the greatest brains amongst our midst..the inimitable genius 'Viswanthan Anand' a true champion and a true inspiration for all..proud to be a Madrasi. A day well spent. Thank you to Madras Round Table for the wonderful show.
